Beautiful hotel with lots of history....which was fantastic! Great location just adjacent to Union Square, and walking distance to all San Fran has to offer, including the wharf and business district. Maybe a bit over priced, but you are paying for the "reputation" a bit. Still a great place to stay, with lots of culture and history to take in.
