King Khalid International Airport (IATA: RUH, ICAO: OERK) is an international airport located about 35 km from the Saudi capital Riyadh. [1] [2] [3] [4] which is the center of the national air transport system. Designed by the American Office of Architecture Helmut, Obata and Kasaboom, and opened in 1983 to be the world's largest airport in terms of space, with an area of 225 square kilometers, the airport bears the name of Khalid bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, who was the fourth king of Saudi Arabia
The number of lounges is 5 lounges, with three indoor lounges (two rooms currently operating and one empty and not for future use) and two connecting international halls through four connecting buildings. Each of these three-storey halls has a triangular structure and a floor area of approximately 47,500 square meters. The length of each building connecting the halls to 168 m and an approximate area of 25.000 square meters and buildings contain moving paths, restaurants, cafeterias and offices of airlines and government agencies and commercial markets. Opposite the lounges there is a public parking lot of three floors, and can accommodate about 8000 cars and 3,600 cars above the roof.
