Wow, so we went to Charlie and Jake's on beach side for dinner tonight. We got here at 7:20. A fire literally started behind us while waiting to have a server take our drink order. Thank God we were with our 2 good friends, which are both fire fighters. There was also 2 PROPANE tanks sitting right next to the fire, right next to us . It was Impossible to even get an actual manager out to help. We had to ask 3 separate times to get any help from the waitstaff or management. We were able to put some of the fire out, and after the many attempts to get help from the staff, they finally came out with a fire extinguisher. We are here with a 4 year old and a not even 1 year old. When the server got back, she asked "so... do you want to order or do you want to leave" They were extremely rude to us from here on out.
THEN, the manager comes out and apologizes to every single table outside, except for us. Doesn't even look at us.
The table closest to us gets half price off their tab. At the end of our meal, 2 AND A GALF GOURS LATER, they bring out our tab, and gave us free drinks. Total of $10 off.
This management is a joke. This restaurant is a joke. We were not trying to get a free meal, but we were blatantly disrespected and treated like scum for keeping their restuarantfrom burning down.
The table next to us, who did nothing but witness the event where my 2 friends saved the place from a large fire or potential explosion, were treated with more gratitude and empathy then the people who had not been served, not eaten, and actually kept the place from setting fire. I will never eat there or at any of their affiliates I ask that any of you who read this join in our boycott. I am disgusted at the treatment they gave us. #boycottcharlieandjakes
