We saw a great play (The Oldest Boy) in a wonderfully surprising location (the basement of a church). The cast pulled us right into the story and had me looking straight into the eyes of a puppet who was manipulated right in front of our eyes by various members of the cast and voiced brilliantly by Al Twanmo, a local actor with national credits. And there I was suspending my disbelief and relating to the one non-human "cast" member. The emotions of the Mother (played stunningly by Jenna Sokolowski) were believable, and given the intimacy of the setting (a church basement!) I was wishing I could console her myself. All in all, great setting, great cast, great production. Looking forward to the next show.
