Beds have privacy curtains and outlets. AC kept rooms cool. Breakfast includes an egg bake with potatoes and onions, cheese, pastries, juice, coffee, tea, breads, butter, jam, milk, cereal, etc. for 3 Euro. They contribute to a great social atmosphere by having free nightly dinners and activities every day and night. Their activities often include their guests from their other locations in Barcelona, so you get to meet ppl from your hostel as well as their other hostels. The hostel itself is great, but the best part about it is the staff. I was injured and ruptured 4 discs in my spine the day before I arrived. I didn't know the extent of the injury yet and had been told by a doc (who hadn't done any testing) that it was just a muscle pressing on my sciatic nerve. <br/>So I thought with meds I was ok the first day, but by the end of the day, after trying to lie down, I was in agony. It had gotten way worse. Knowing it wasn't just a muscle issue, I slowly limped out to reception to ask about a clinic. Even though I had trouble answering questions bc I was in so much pain, they were patient and kind with me. They helped me get an ambulance, they helped me organize my things, they helped read through my medical instructions to make sure I properly took all of the prescribed meds, they went to a 24 hr pharmacy in the middle of the night to fill medications, they helped me walk, etc. Once at the hospital, an MRI showed I had severe disc ruptures pressing on my spinal cord and nerves. This staff did everything they could to help me during this. I cannot state how grateful I am to have their help, each and every one of them. I hope whoever owns this hostel knows how truly wonderful their staff is, and that they went way above and beyond to help me.
