I've been going to Hines VA for 10 yrs. I have had some good positive experiences there, I've also dealt with staff who were either rude, lazy, incompetent, or a combination of all those things. I was an inpatient once & I stood @ the nurse's station for @ least 10 minutes before the nurse finally acknowledged me-- and there was nobody else waiting-it was just me & her. Also didnt get my trash dumped in my room for 5or 6 days til I finally complained. It eventually became apparent to me that my skin was the wrong color-- had I been darker I've no doubt l would've been treated with alot
