This district is home to museums and was therefore excellently named as a museum quarter. In English things are not so good, because you could interpret "quarter of museums" as "a quarter of the museums" ("a quarter" in English means "a quarter" or 1/4, but also "the quarter" - this Double meaning leaves the tourist lost in translation).
