Like many others I had no idea the Physician was billed separate from the visit. WHY? So I got the first bill for the ER and made a payment, then I get a bill in the mail saying I can setup a payment plan finally so I do. Come to find out I only setup the EPPA payment plan because the EPPA bill was very close to the amount of the ER visit, and my ER visit bill was almost in collections. Insurance took care of $90 of a $1000 bill because its billed this way (vs $1500 off a $3200 ER bill)and I have good insurance.

If this is the way it is, the Physician should have to tell you at the hospital before you leave that you will be getting 2 bills since the Physicians are a part of this association. Otherwise it seems like a scam... which it is...
