There's not an awful lot to the pier any more, wit...

There's not an awful lot to the pier any more, with the old theater refurbished into an indoor 'activity centre' and a pointless, ridiculously priced 10 second zip wire from the end of the pier to the beach. There is a bar/'restaurant' at the far end of the Pier, that sells over-priced food and drinks but, 15:00 onwards, cocktails are 2-4-1.
The view from the end of the Pier is ruined by a childrens mini fairground and the hideous scaffolding for the zip wire.
You do have to pay to go on the pier during the summer season daytime, but it's really cheap and your ticket lasts a full year. Even on the hottest of days, it's lovely to walk out over the sea and catch a bit of cooler air.
A lovely pier, ruined by over commercialization... nice views up and down the coast and across to the Isle of Wight.
