Cons: I Just stayed there for two days. After our first night of stay, we returned to find the room was not cleaned, beds did get spread over, but the dirty facecloth I had left on table and the stains, water marks on the table from a pop spill or contact lens solution spill, still there. All was obvious, so not hard to see. Floor did not get vacuumed, there were bits of white paper or something to that affect on the rug and the next day after the first day of our stay,it was still there. The bathroom floor still had hair on it, yuck.

The "maid" cart was in the hall on a number of occasions while we were there, never once saw the vacuum come off the cart. I guess when the hotel went green it included using minimal hydro. Three people staying in the room, only supplies for two (the arrangements called for three of us in the room, so the hotel knew ahead of time). However, I could have called for more towels or supplies, but I would have thought that when I checked in that they would have "thought" of this. Two paper coffee cups only, two glasses on bathroom counter, no enough for us, never mind if we wanted to have a guest to our room. I also found the rooms to be very understated, nothing momentous at all.

When I went to check out, there were about 50 - 60 or so students lined up to check out, I just asked the concierge if I could by pass the process, he said yes. I am hoping everything will go well in terms of the charges for the two nights stay, but I did want to tell the hotel how I felt "they did" in terms of my stay, but I was not asked about that. No one tried to keep order in the lobby, very hard to make your way through the lobby and to get out with luggage. My exit was certainly not as nice or expedited in the same way as my arrival. No one said "may I help you, or assist?"

Pros: Wonderful greeting when we arrived by the door men, wonderful service at check in by a young woman named Sharlene I believe. Nice to have public free wi fi in lobby area, would be nice to have in room.

Over all, I can say that I had just come from staying in another hotel the weekend before in Vancouver and that hotel is classified as 5 star as well, and yet, the standard rooms, do not even compare...Vancouver room, far, far superior, robes, luxury towels, etc, fireplace, ipad to control drapes, lights, heating. The lights in our room at this Marriott, not good, use a switch or push button, very old fashioned. But they did work and serve the purpose.
