What an incredible experience. Snowy ski slopes, kids playing and enjoying themselves in the snow. Definitely want to do it again, but will first need lessons. There are some cool rental spots in town. We used The Ski Shed and I will advise them to anyone wanting to rent gear eg. sleds, snowboards and accessories and ski gear. Word of advise, do as much research and planning as possible as it will make the trip so much more worth while. We were sort of winging everything as we went along, but have learned in the process what most pitfalls are. The big plus for us was that we could drive to the top without any shuttle service compared to what many people say about Whakapapa ski slopes. Maybe we were just lucky on the day, but will definitely go back to Turoa next time around.
