J Payne Review of Community Builders, Inc

Sales person that answered the phone the first time said they would not go all the way to Nowata to give me an estimate on a new roof, gutters, siding repair, paint job, and windows. I said thank you, and moved on to calling other companies. They call me back a week later saying they've changed their mind and would love to come out on Monday around 10 AM to give me the estimate, but that for whatever reason I would have to be there in person (first company to tell me that). I took off work and drove up there. We currently live in Tulsa so it's a good 45 minute drive. Sat there for roughly 45 minutes and a man walked up asking if I was Mr. Payne. Thinking it's the guy from Community Builders, I told him I was, and asked about why he was late. He told me that he was from Sanders Construction (another one of the guys that gave me an estimate), and that he was working on a house two doors down and just saw someone at the house, and knowing it was unoccupied, wanted to make sure it was me. We spoke more about the repairs needed to the house, and he seemed very knowledgeable, clean cut, well mannered, but most of all....he was on time for his job, and still took time to come talk to me. Community Builders never called, never showed up, never e-mailed, voice mailed, snail mailed, sent a carrier pigeon, a fax, NOTHING. What happens if/when YOU no call/ no show for YOUR job? Yeah. Me too! Once burnt, lesson "learnt". I'm thinking they called me back because there was an opening became available and I was better than nothing, then they found something closer and just blew me off. It wasn't a big enough job to put their kid through college or anything, but I'll take my $15,000 worth of business and go somewhere else. I'm sorry to say this because when they called back the first time, I was really excited due to the sound of professionalism over the phone. But now....I wouldn't let these people roof my dog house. And that's a fact, Jack!
