Very unhappy with my experience at AutoNation Suba...

Very unhappy with my experience at AutoNation Subaru West. Took my 2010 Subaru Forester in for scheduled 105,000 mile maintenance. My first experience was with service writer Michael who checked me in. Part of the 105K maintenance is replacing the timing belt. He said they recommend also replacing pulleys and tensioner, extra $480. The 105K service already costs $1,100 so I declined. I cited that maintenance manual did not recommend. I considered this just an attempt to upsell unnecessary repair. Later that morning another service person, John, called me and again recommended replacing pulleys and tensioner. He admitted they had not looked at car yet so recommendation was not because of obvious need to repair. He quoted $600 extra price. Again I thought this was just another attempt to upsell unnecessary repair. I'm used to a little upsell pressure at dealer but this was most extreme I've experienced.

But that was only the start of my bad experience. When I left the dealer in the morning, I discovered I was missing my sunglasses. I thought maybe I had left them on the counter at dealer. I went back an hour later and the person I spoke with checked around, I thought fairly thoroughly, and could not find them. OK, I left. At the end of the day when I picked up the car, I asked both cashier and service people if sunglasses had showed up. They checked around a little bit and said no sunglasses so I got my paperwork and went outside to get car. Service driver pulled up with car and I noted he was wearing what appeared to be my sunglasses. (destinctive suglasses, Hobie Riptide) I asked him about the glasses and he immediately said "I found them" and handed them to me.

The sunglass thing is almost funny but on top of upsell experience my trust in this dealership is gone. I've bought cars there and regularly do my service there but no more.
