Stayed here on Wednesday night gone, 5 stars for location, right in the centre of the valley, immerse yourself in nature and the natural beauty that is Glendalough. The hotel is slightly dated and creaky, but suits its surroundings, it's perfect for laying the head down. The restaurant however I would not recommend. Do not fall for the 2 course for 20euro or 3 for 30euro. It's really basic food, it lacks effort and taste, I mean its edible but I'm sure you can find something more appetizing for the same cost 5 minutes up the road. The service in the restaurant is also appalling, to say we felt like we were a burden to the waiter is an understatement. He was a young enough guy mid 20s max. His service was sloppy, slow, aggressive and he even made a couple of grunts or remarks under his breath when asked a question. His attitude completely ruined the atmosphere. We weren't alone in thinking it also, an elderly couple next seat over had the same issues, baffles me as to why he still works there. Definatley not worth spending the money in that restaurant.
