Made an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon at Mass General. Receptionist there could not tell me if my BMC plan would pay for my visit, suggested I call BMC to check. First call to BMC I was told my doctor is not in network and I had to get a Prior Authorization Form from my PCP. Called my PCP and was told BMC has never approved a Prior Authorization Form from their office. Relayed this info to BMC on my 2nd call to them. I was then told that my surgeon was in their network and all I needed was a procedure code from the surgeons' office. I got that code and just got off the phone with BMC where I was told that the surgeon is not in the BMC network and I need a Prior Authorization Form! What a cluster f#@*!
