We have been to other couples resorts and were excited to return to Jamaica after 15 years.
- On our first night, we found out our room's safe keypad was almost completely pulled off of the safe , but went ahead to dinner naively thinking the room would not be disturbed. While at dinner, a turn down service was performed, and upon return I realized $60 was taken from my wallet. Nothing else was taken and were were exhausted after a long day of travelling so we decided to wait until morning to report the incident. The next morning the security officer repeatedly suggested that I "just misplaced it". We decided to file a formal incident report and after about an hour of back and forth, the manager was called to come look at the safe. He agreed it was not "looking good" and installed a new one right away while a security officer supervised. In order to file the report, our room had to be searched (with us watching) to make sure the money was not hidden somewhere! . We felt violated not once, but twice and had a hard time getting past that negative experience. We were not compensated, upgraded, or apologized to. After that we kept all valuables in the new safe and left the "do not disturb" sign up for all turn down service.
- I got a stomach bug on the second day and spent 24 hours in misery.
- This resort is on a PUBLIC beach, and we were approached repeatedly (every single day) by vendors to buy things...while trying to sun bathe or swim in the resort's area.
+ The wait staff, bar tenders, and water sports staff were phenomenal!!!
+ Water is clear, warm, clean, and beaches were breathtakingly beautiful.
+ The beach front verandah suites were right on the beach and very comfortable, relatively clean. But, our ceiling fan wobbled a lot!
We will not be back to this particular resort, but still remain a Couples fan as there are only happy and welcoming adults who want to relax and have a great time.
