I could fill a book with all of the LIES I was told...seriously! But the one thing that burns me the most is that the sales person Randy lost the key to my trade in. I was unable to retrieve my personal belongings from the trunk. With the help of service department, I was able to (barely) begin to gather my personal effects from the trunk by squeezing through the compartment in the back seat. Randy rushed out and said "what are you doing"?? He STOPPED me from getting my belongings, "Don't do that, there's no sense that a big guy like you should have to get his stuff through a small hole in the back seat." "I have a friend that can cut you a replacement key and get you in the car" (again the key that HE lost). I said OK...and waited...and waited...I came to visit during a recent oil change. When I asked about the key Randy told me "Oh, you';re better off cutting a key yourself at cost...oh wait do you mean on your OLD car?? That's gone...." I told him "YOU told me you would replace the key". He replied "yeah....I told the kid that doesn't work here anymore to follow up on this for you but he never did". What? First of all how are you delegating YOUR responsibility to get the key that YOU lost to someone ELSE when YOU stopped me from getting my belongings and YOU said you had a friend that could replace the key for YOU!!?? I cant say I was surprised though. Despite giving me a price for my new car, I didn't find out until I was signing the paperwork that they had slipped it in at almost 1000.00 higher. Randy said (after the fact) "oh, I did that because it's more favorable to the bank. Don't worry....I'll give you a few more oil changes". I checked with service during my visit. there were NO extra oil changes as promised. When I told Randy he immediately looked annoyed...."well how many do you want"?? I asked him to give me what he intended by "extra oil changes". He reluctantly scrawled a note granting me 2 free oil changes. Not nearly enough to cover the bait and switch, higher than communicated pricing (that I almost missed), and my inability to get my personal belongings because HE STOPPED ME and promised to provide a trunk key. I was just going to stop there, but now that I'm mad all over again I can tell you the initial experience was fantastic. I came to the point of filling out paperwork with another sales person and Randy inserted himself into the sale at the end. The car I loved and test drove they told me was sold when I got back to the lot. they tried to push another color on me, even going so far as to let me use it, but when I refused to commit to a "car I just like" vs. getting one in my color that "i would love"...they magically produced the car in the color I really wanted from the back! The car had MORE miles, but it was my color and Randy quoted me a lower price, (due to the mileage). filled out paper work with finance and discovered he charged the SAME price as the exact SAME car with less miles and tried to sneak it by me. Oh yeah....i drove this new Sonata he "found" off the lot....and halfway home the STEERING COLUMN SNAPPED ON THE HIGHWAY EXIT. My family could have been killed. (I could NOT make this up...the records are right there with the service department). Some safety check. Perhaps that's why this car was no where on the lot before Randy grabbed it from the back??? So, they fixed the car and gave me a loaner. but almost NOTHING they promised materialized and trusting them cost me a lot of pain and loss of personal effects. I wonder if my trade in is still there? Randy said it wasn't, but seeing how he couldn't keep up with the key, how could he keep up with the car?? Finally, Randy mentioned to me "the kid got the commission, I got the sale".....(referring to the original salesman that invited me to rte 44 Hyundai in the first place). To be honest, everything was going smoothly until he stepped in....Oh yeah and he promised me touch-paint, (never got it). They'll promise magic beans to make a sale. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!
