Overall very nice side of mt Ruapehu. There is a different number of slopes, however most of them are not for beginners. One or two green tracks for beginners have huge stretches where even an experienced skier/snowboarder is not going to get enough speed to get through. In the morning the slopes are rally icy, if there was no powder a night before. Very crowded during the weekends. But the views from the top of the mountains are to die for. If you are luck enough to get there on a bluebird day, the joy of riding will be shared with an incredible views. The cafe areas are not bad, surely they are on an expensive side of things, but not too crazy. Mulled wine in a Gian cafe is fairy good, even though tastes a bit diluted with water. Overall - good skiing resort, will be here every winter.
