I was so excited to stay at the Golden Nugget to get the Freemont Street experience. Not impressed in the slightest. The hotel is nice enough (still here), but this is how it s gone... upon check in, our room was filthy, had not been cleaned from the previous guests. Back down to front desk we go - next room is at least clean and with a better view. But lugging 8 suitcases and several bags was a pain. I won t go on to all of the sub par room amenities, but there is no coffee pot in the room and it was a $15 charge for 4 kuerig cups. Most (no exaggeration) of the staff here act like you are an imposition. The bartenders in the casino are terrible and you get to pay $4.00 for a Diet Coke, if you can get their attention. While I was waiting for that same Diet Coke (better service if you gamble but not by much), I cut my knee on a carpet tack as I was pushing away from my seat, which also let a wonderful black and red bruise. I tried to tell someone to fix it - but was dismissed. Tonight, our room was not serviced - with 4 of us in the room (women), towels and washcloths are essential. To be honest - a holiday inn express has better service. I m here to celebrate a milestone birthday and I m just done. My family nor I will ever stay here again.
