I called and asked specifically if this was a African American Owned Business because as an individual who support the economic growth of the race, I should not have been judged and criticized by the woman who answered the phone because of where I choose to invest.
I told her that I appreciate her opinion but I'd rather invest in the opportunity for encomonic expansion in my own community.
She handed the phone off to a presumed African American coworker instead of hearing my opinion as I did her.
It is made clear to me that people would rather inject their own personal bias into the professional realm instead of respecting the opinions of others. Sounds pretty ironic to me. And for that I have chosen to NOT take by business here because I feel as though my values were not respected but instead I was just judged and disrespected.
Continuing forward, I will not refer any of my peers to this business for it is clear that all opinions don't matter.
