The staff is very nice and the building is very clean. Each dog has their own space and their own Kuranda dog bed. The catteries (the areas where the cats are kept) are very nice and the cats get to play and walk around. The Mount Pleasant Animal Shelter doesn t euthanize their animals; they actually get their animals from shelters that euthanize.
Honesty is extremely important. The staff knows each one of the animal s personalities and each animal goes through evaluation. During evaluation they test the animals to see if they are good with cats, dogs, & children. If the animal isn t good with cats, dogs, or children, then they put that on the animal s profile. If the animal is good with cats, dogs, or children, then they add that to the profile too.
Cleanliness is important too. They make sure that the animals live in a clean environment. They thoroughly wash every towel, bed, leash, collar, harness, toy, blanket, animal costume, & food dish in order to avoid the animals getting sick. They thoroughly clean the catteries/kennels multiple times a day. The dogs are taken on walks a few times a day and they also get to play in the yard.
