This is a small airport but that's not the problem. The first feeling you get when you land here and enter the airport is "What's that smell?". For such a popular tourist attraction, the airport can certainly be made better.
For example, the rest rooms don't have locks to them and the soap dispensers don't work! The maintenance is fairly poor.
There are atms, information desks and souvenir shops in the airport which is helpful but much work is needed with the cleanliness of the airport. Cabs at the airport are expensive, so you are better off stepping out and then looking for a cab. Take a bus to habana central and look for a cab there to get a better price.
