King Khaled International Airport
Is an international airport away from the Saudi capital Riyadh about 15 km.
The center of the national air transport system. Designed by the American Office of Architecture Helmut, Obata and Kasaboom, and opened in 1983 to be the largest airport in the world in terms of area, with an area of airport area of 225 square kilometers, the airport bears the name of King Khalid bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.

The number of lounges is 5 lounges, with three indoor lounges (two rooms currently operating and one empty and not for future use) and two connecting international halls through four connecting buildings. Each of these three-storey halls has a triangular structure and a floor area of approximately 47,500 square meters. The length of each building connecting the halls to 168 m and an approximate area of 25.000 square meters and buildings contain moving paths, restaurants, cafeterias and offices of airlines and government agencies and commercial markets. Opposite the lounges there is a public parking lot of three floors, and can accommodate about 8000 cars and 3,600 cars above the roof.

The expansion and modernization of passenger lounges at the airport is underway in several stages, with the project expected to be completed in 2038 and a capacity of 47 million passengers. The first phase of the expansion and modernization includes the construction of the new passenger terminal No. 5 with a capacity of 12 million passengers expected to be completed by the end of 2015, followed by the rehabilitation and modernization of lounges number 4 and 3 and hallways 2 and 1 to become the total capacity of the first phase 35.5 Million passengers by the end of 2020.

Terminal 5 is currently being built with a capacity of 12 million passengers, and will be followed by the expansion of lounges 3 and 4 to accommodate 17.5 million domestic and international passengers, in addition to Terminal 5 currently under construction and the existing two lounges 1 and 2. With an airport capacity of 35.5 million passengers during the first phase of expansion planned to be completed within five years. This development ends at the end of 2017.
