Had someone I love at PBH. The patients sit around a dilapidated living room area most of the day, coloring or watching TV. The nurses hide behind the nursing station. The oft mentioned advocates do not answer their phone or return messages. If you finally get one on the line, they are hostile and overly protective of the facility. There are no amenities and our loved was not even seen by a physician within the first 24 hours of admission. The loved one went there to request admission to the outpatient program and clearly stated they were working full time, were well groomed and denied suicide or homicide thoughts but the admission RN secretly called the hospitalist and got an involuntary hold which was traumatizing and involved an escort down the hall by security. Our loved one was terrified and it took us a day and a half to get the 72 hour hold ended. Still cannot understand how they did it to a responsible, well spoken person who had just gotten off work at a responsible job. Good insurance?
