Use the water sports at the sandbank hotel they where very friendly and happy to help. The hotel is a nice venue, and when u was there I thought is would be a nice place to take the children for an evening out. They have a lovely bar/ restaurant with an indoor play area and an outside play area. The food was responsibly priced and smelt lovely haven't eaten there yet though.
