My family did not stay here while in quepos/Manuel...

My family did not stay here while in quepos/Manuel Antonio but it was recommended to us by a former employee for their free afternoon tour of the macaws.
We got there too early (tour is around 3 or 4) and, after explaining we weren't guests, were given a ride in a golf cart to the bar/restaurant area. The ride was unexpected and fun going up the steep hill and the view was fantastic at the bar. Our frozen daiquiris while we waited were perfect for the high afternoon heat and the decor and style of the place was very chic and pristine. The employees spoke very good English and happily tolerated our muddled Spanish. Price for the drinks was a little cheaper than you'd pay for the drinks in the USA.
We then went with our guide and a small group of other guests at the hotel on the tour of their rehabilitation area for macaws and learned about the interaction of animals in the area and the projects goals. Portions of all the hotels profits go towards the rehab center.
We took a short walk down some paths and were shown other animals. There is also a longer trail with a view you can elect to go on with the group. After getting back, we were given drinks at the bar by the guide! Not bad for a free tour. We made sure, and urge anyone going on this tour, to donate money towards the rehab so they can continue to offer such an great experience and help restore the damage to our ecosystems.
