5-star food with a (hopefully one-off) bad service...

5-star food with a (hopefully one-off) bad service experience. I had a craving for Chicago style deep dish pizza and these guys nailed it. The only difference between Genna's and 'the real deal' is the crust. Genna's is regular pizza crust, not flaky like Lou Malnati's in Chicago or Pizzapapalis in Detroit, but that's absolutely fine by me (maybe even better?). We ordered carryout and called 15 minutes before arriving to add on meatball-stuffed garlic knots. They were busy and they were also training a new employee on the cash register. The new guy obviously didn't associate the add-on knots with our order. Mistakes happen and if they'd apologized and said they forgot, I'd have taken home a hot pizza and left a 5-star review. However, they told me the knots were in the oven (clearly not true) and would be less than 10 minutes. So, although the pizza was ready (FYI, Chicago style deep dish takes almost an hour to cook, so plan ahead), I ended up waiting 30 minutes for piping hot $10 meatball-stuffed garlic knots and bringing home a $40 cold pizza (which, in all fairness, was still delicious after a few minutes in the microwave).
