Michelle Gong Review of Saratoga Star Aquatics

We had the most horrifying experience when we went to our first swimming class at Saratoga Star Aquatics. Even for the beginner's class, parents have to watch through a glass window. There is no dedicated person at the side of the pool to monitor the safety of the children.
Since my 3.5 year old had already taken swimming classes at another swimming school, he was very comfortable in the water. In the middle of the class, he slipped from the edge of the pool into the water without any instructor noticing him. The pool was too deep for him and he was submerged with only hands visible. After he struggled for more than a minute, with other parents looking on aghast outside the glass window, still no instructor in the pool area noticed anything. Only when I knocked on the glass window really hard did the class instructor respond and pull him out of the water.
After this traumatic experience, my son turned from a water loving boy into someone who cries whenever he hears about swimming classes. I called the business to see whether I can turn the rest of his swimming classes into just family swimming time. I was told by the person answering the phone that he couldn't do anything about it. He told me that his management would call me shortly (right after he finishes his work on hand) but I have yet to hear from them.
