Probably deserves a 3.5 - stayed in a two bedroom villa here for 10 nights in September - as the Caribbean's "rainy" period, this meant the hotel was barely half full. If full, I don't think the pool or restaurants would be anywhere near as enjoyable.

Also important to note - almost all the rooms are set halfway up the mountain, so you will need a shuttle up to your room (and often down), which is somewhat inconvenient. Usually need to wait a few minutes before it arrives.

The 2 bed villa itself has a small kitchen, dining room and living room. The bedrooms are medium size but both have large balconies. One balcony has a small pool in it - about 6m by 3m, enough to sit in and relax, but definitely not for swimming. The two bathrooms are average in every way, would have expected something a bit more luxurious and enjoyable to be in.

The food around the hotel is good quality - the breakfast is a medium sized buffet, while lunch and dinner are served in style. The staff are variable but Maria and Anthony were especially good and clearly really care about delivering exceptional service. They also have cats roaming around - they don't cause any issues but are used to people giving some food - I'm not an animal person at all but got used to it after 2 days.

The gym is very good and the spa staff (especially Zakia and Stephanie) were excellent (for a haircut and massage). There is only one proper sized pool in the hotel, on the ground floor. There is a second smaller one at the top of the mountain - the others are all very small and more just to sit in.

The beach is pretty good, soft sand with lots of deckchairs, warm water, a slide and a raft out at sea. There are water sports facilities available, but jet skiing is not affiliated with the hotel and comes at a cost. Water skiing is available if you've done it regularly, otherwise you have to pay $45 for a 20 minute lesson.

Overall, a reasonable hotel with average decor and a bit frustrating having to always get a shuttle to your room - but worth going during quieter periods.
