I work as part of a team that regularly travels to grand rapids. We typically book between 5 and 10 rooms for an average of 3-6 nights. The group has largely been loyal to the marriott brand and we collect the points. But ever since last year when we started staying at this hotel the group has started to split. Over time, people got frustrated with this hotel and started booking individual rooms at other marriotts or even hiltons close by. I was one of the last holdouts. But after my most recent stay i can guarantee that they won t be getting my business again. The rooms are dirty, i keep killing bugs and the staff acts like every day is their first day working there - i have now given my rewards number to 4 different people at the front desk, each of whom assured me that they would attach it to my stay, still hasn t happened. There are some basics that i require from a hotel. The bar isn t high. These guys just refused to even try to clear it.
