I ordered $489 worth of Moog chassis parts as well...

I ordered $489 worth of Moog chassis parts as well as a few other items with my most recent purchase. My wife and I have a automotive repair ministry and do a lot of work out of my garage.

I have sent many customers to purchase their parts from Rock Auto as their prices are great! However if you're in need of customer service (i.e. return for missing or damaged items), you'll quickly realize that you should purchase your parts locally going forward. Two of the Moog control arms were shipped in the manufacturers packaging only with no other packaging to protect them. This packaging is insufficient for shipping and is merely meant to house the part while it sits on a shelf. The ball joints were hanging out of the boxes and were damaged when delivered.

Rock Auto (these days...it is quite difficult to get a representative on the phone with this company) authorized the return and provided instructions to drop them off at a Fedex location. I realize you're e-commerce but there are situations that arise that require a phone call...period! I drive to Fedex and they refuse to take the packages due to insufficient packaging. Imagine that! I call Rock Auto again (I have to purposesly choose the incorrect IVR options so that I can speak to a human, however, not before running into several dead-ends that point you back to their website), and this time they schedule a Fedex pickup right from my home with the disclaimer that the items are already damaged. A week goes by with no credit and Fedex shows up and returns one of the two damaged ball joints with a tag stating return to sender due to damage! Are you kidding me? I spoke with Rock Auto customer service (if you want to call it that) and received even more attitude than all of the last 3 representatives. It will be 4 weeks before I receive a refund by the time this ordeal is resolved. In the meantime, my customer's car sits in my driveway on a weekend waiting for parts! Unacceptable Rock Auto! I had no choice but to go to a local auto parts store and purchase the same Moog controls, but what a blessing that turned out to be as they matched Rock Auto's prices (including shipping of course)! Good riddance Rock Auto... you lost all of my business as well as all of my customers' business! Shame on Fedex as well... a complaint was filed!
