I could not have asked for better care or professionalism. These folks really, really care about me as a client going through a difficult treatment path.

We interviewed a raft of Proton Therapy Centers throughout the United States before settling on Ackerman. This center was far and away the most responsive initially and during the entire eight weeks of treatment.

Throughout the entire process - from the front office folks, to the weekly meetings with the doctors and nutritionist, to the radiation technicians, to the finance and insurance staff, to the social work team (who helped us find affordable housing and get acclimated to the area), you could not ask for more caring and engaged professionals. The facility itself is immaculate, both clean and welcoming.

As to my own personal journey - it was with extreme reluctance I even considered radiation of any type to treat my cancer (head and neck). I could not get my mind wrapped around "traditional radiation" as a treatment option based on the collateral damage one would incur.

Two and a half years after being diagnosed and trying a variety of other treatments during that time, I heard about Proton Therapy by chance and decided to explore my options. As I said before, my partner and I interviewed a myriad of clinics and immediately settled on the Ackerman Cancer Center once we finished the first phone interview, so impressed were we.

Kudos to this clinic for personalizing the treatment - the staff knew our names after our first visit. They treated me with the utmost respect and caring during the entire process. I never felt like a cog in the wheel, being pushed from place to place as is so common in the medical field today.

This Center provides a whole host of "radiation" related services - not just Proton Therapy. I would strongly recommend/urge that you seek out this facility to have whatever therapy or diagnostic you require. You will find it well worth the time and effort.
