My wife and I spent saturday looking at jeeps, starting with pre-owned Patriots. Our salesman, Dennis Baker, was very friendly. After getting some false information from "Andy" about the 2.4 engines not being available here in Myrtle Beach, we moved over to the new car side to look at other vehicles. We were greeted by Michelle (new car mgr) who told us she would take care of us!! After hours of trying to figure out what the prices and discounts were, we decided to purchase a 2016 Patriot 75th Anniversary. We were trading in a vehicle and only financing $8000. Everyone was all smiles, cheery, and they even wanted me to ring the bell before I left so they could clap!!! It was late on saturday and there was not time to have it ready so we opted to go back monday (this) morning to pick it up and finalize the deal. I spent yesterday researching the Patriot and realized it was being discontinued this year and then looked at the KBB and about fell over when I saw what a trade in value was for a 2016 with even 5000 miles on it. I decided that, although these have good reviews, this WAS NOT the vehicle for me. I went to the dealership this morning to let them know I had decided not to purchase at this time and just needed to get the title back for my own vehicle that I had left there on saturday with the finance mgr, Michael Lee. When I went in and (very nicely) told Michelle that I had changed my mind, she called Dennis over the loudspeaker who came over from the used car side. I apoligetically told him I had changed my mind and needed my title. Dennis was then summoned over the loudspeaker to the used car side again. Michelle ignored me and I stood there for another 10 minutes waiting on my title. I then went to Michael Lees office and asked for MY TITLE. He threw his arms in the air and said he couldn't do anything without Michelles consent. I walked back into the lobby being ignored again. My wife, wondering where I was, came in. I had now been there 20-25 minutes. Then the fun began!! Here comes the salesman, Dennis, along with the Gen Mgr, Rob Beard. Mr Beard walked in and got right in our faces, raised his voice, and said "DISGUSTING!" MY wife said "EXCUSE ME!! Mr Beard then said"Just Disgusting, we spent five hours with you and this is how we make our living! You ruined my day!!" We then watched him walk into Mr Lees office, grabbed my title from the desk, came back out and slung it to me and walked off!!! We are Horry County School employees and were HIGHLY SHOCKED by this behavior. MBCJ will never get our familys business!!
