My boyfriend & I have been traveling in Greece, exploring the nearby islands for 3 weeks and Athens was our last destination before heading back to Singapore. We wanted to get some souvenirs and thought handmade leather sandals were perfect for our families.
The Lady Staff (with long and black hair in a pony tail) was the rudest, most unkind person we've ever encountered. She made it very difficult for us to enjoy our shopping experience.
Among all things, she kept stopping me from checking sizes and designs by insisting to help. (She "helped" by getting me a black sandal when I asked for a blue and walked away.) -_-
She also said I "couldn't try more than 5 sandals." (I had the intention of purchasing 4 pairs) - I also had to try on different sizes to make sure they'll be a good fit for my mum & siblings.
She also mocked us by asking us to personally bring to her sandals we were done with (while we were still deciding which ones to get.) At that point, we stood up and left.
If we had known earlier that there was a great, super helpful woman just 2 shops down, we really should have just walked past and never stepped foot into Mater Terra.
We're not sure if this is an act of racism but such behaviour isn't exemplary of service industry, much less Greek hospitality.
What a shame.
*Edit on 3 stars from 1 star.
This is due to the service recovery of Mater Terra's management which was swift and sincere :)
