Although I am divided on this situation I do not want this to reflect negatively on the service advisor Ashley, whom I will recommend others to.
On one hand I received great respect and customer service by the advisor Ashley, every time I had to speak or deal with him he was responsive.
On the other hand I've personally been around many dealership shops, advisors and mechanics and have never, ever heard of a manager or shop demand payment or proof of payment before starting work on a vehicle.
I had to remove my truck which was in your shop for a complete engine replacement. The total cost according to the shop estimate was $8,050.00
I need my truck for work and repeatedly requested that the shop start the work and complete the work asap. Over about a weeks time every request for that was denied by Steve Vela, (the service manager) and the reason according to the advisor was because they had vehicles that had not been paid for in the past. I expressed to him that had nothing to do with me and assured him that my truck
will be paid for by me if not the bank, he agreed.
At one time during a visit I spoke with Steve and he did mention not having a loaner until they start work.
In hindsight I guess he meant no loaner until payment is made or until he is satisfied by me proving to him I can afford the estimated amount.
Perhaps I should've worn my suite while in his shop?
He may have even offered me a bottle of water and thanked me for trusting his shop with my truck and a hefty amount of my money!
After the third denied request to start work on my truck I picked it up and placed in a different shop.
This cost me more money but they started working on it asap as would be expected by any customer which just so happened to be the same day they received it.
Besides being profiled by and wasting my time waiting on this "manager" to give his blessing I am truly disappointed that Ashley was robbed by his "manager" of his commission from this job.
I hope there is some sort of training given to Steve in order to prevent such things from reoccurring until then I would not refer anyone to this shop.
