Welcome if you bring a speech jammer for your child-Not child friendly
The Food was good
The waitresses were friendly, polite and helpful
Unfortunately our whole experience was ruined by the Front Of House/Restaurant Manager Daiva coming over and asking our 18 month old son directly to keep the noise down first, then on a second occasion she anxiously asked me if I could keep him quiet as there were other guests and we weren t expecting him!. What difference expecting him would have made I don t know!?
1) I e-mailed the restaurant before visiting in April to inquire about my son and was told that children were allowed at the 12:00 hours sitting, based on this I booked at 12:30 hours
2) I understand that our little darling is not everyone s little darling, so we were conscious of noise for other guests
3) Noise coming from my son was intermittent and the noise was reasonable noise.
4) Other guests were interacting with my son and were not complaining about him to staff or to us as his parents
5) I felt we were dealt with like we were tumultuous, lacked etiquette and empathy towards fellow dinners
6) We left early (skipped Tea/coffee) as we felt embarrassed, awkward, anxious and tense. We didn t argue as we didn t want to cause a scene and fit into a stereo-type that might have been
preconceived by her.
Recommendation
It s probably best that the restaurant doesn t allow children at any time, if the reaction from the Front Of House/Restaurant Manager is as above.
Keeping a high chair where it was not immediately accessible (in the vacuum cleaning cupboard) was a bit of a clue initially that the restaurant wasn t child friendly
