I have much guilt for taking our beloved dog here ...

I have much guilt for taking our beloved dog here but we didn't have a choice at 1am with seizures that were not stopping. She was there 24 hours and we very sadly had to put her to sleep after things never improved. Vet during the day didn't give us updates on her not improving or we would have taken her elsewhere. When we came to pick her up her condition worsened and we were told her quality of life wouldn't be good if she stayed. They told us to spend time with her before the night vet came in and then charged an extra $49 for spending time with her and saying our goodbyes for that last hour so sad. We were already paying $1250 for her 24 hours of care and meds and then adding $49 for us to say goodbye just makes our sadness worse. I feel like we were just a financial transaction and we feel terrible guilt.
