St Alexus Medical used to be a great place before AMITA took over. We've had surgeries, broken ankles, xrays and other treatments done in the past without issues. My wife had a Routine Preventive Colonoscopy exam last year.

AMITA incorrectly coded the exam on the insurance claim for something other than Routine Preventive Colonsocopy and now we are in collections for a bill that is over $3K! Routine Preventive Colonoscopy exams are fully covered, including hospital stays by my insurance.

We got our first notice from AMITA back in October 2018 that we owe 3K in hospital services. So we contacted both the physician and AMITA to let them know that Routine Preventive Colonoscopy procedures are fully covered by the insurance. We waited for over 30 minutes to get a live person at AMITA. They both said it would be corrected. The physician's office faxed a corrected statement of the procedure to AMITA so they could correct their bill and resend to the insurance company. The physicians office billed our insurance correctly so no issues there.

We get a second notice from AMITA in December 2018 for the same bill and again, we contact AMITA and our physician. Our physicians office again resends the procedure information so AMITA can rebill our insurance company. We waited over 40 minutes before we could get a live person to talk to us at AMITA. Extremely frustrating to wait that long. But the billing agent at AMITA said it would be taken care of.

Now we get a collections notice from AMITA for those same hospital services!! We cannot get through to a AMITA Customer service to talk to a live person! It's been over an hour!!

My insurance company said they have not received any corrected invoices showing that it was Routine Preventive Colonsocopy, but they too will also try and contact both the physician and AMITA to help correct this.

Unbelievable!!
