The long delayed remodeling project is such an incredible let down. The very expensive membership facility feel like a poorly funded community center. So many of the things that made the club a great place prior to the remodel have now been eliminated and permanently changed. The offering of group exercises has been significantly reduced and restructured. The spaces for the group exercises are now small, poorly lit, stress more of a night club sound system that drowns out being able to hear and understand the leader, and the lit of other objections would be long. Covid hasn't helped, but the majority of the troubles with Midtown 2021 have to do with a poorly managed remodel project that is 18 months old and still in progress, a poorly designed and decorated set of spaces, and an incredibly weak list of offerings to make it desirable to go. To be clear, many of us that continue to go have voiced our concerns but they would appear to go unacknowledged so no improvement is anticipated soon.
