Made Reservations for 6:00pm dinner on Saturday night for 4, June 2, 2019. Upon arrival looked to our left and saw a great atmosphere with outdoor dining options and super cool vibe. Hostess brought us to the right to the lunch room . It was empty with no lighting or atmosphere like the dinner restaurant. I was emphatic that I did not care for the area or our seating by the exit door and booster seats. She said we wouldn t be lonely for long. Our server was nice and tried to make the most of the fact we didn t seem to happy. We ordered, drinks delivered and then we observed a party of four is brought in by same hostess. They don t like the atmosphere and she promptly brings them over to the other side. Meals are expensive. I had chefs choice and only three small scallops were on my plate, $38 and no atmosphere. By 6:50 we had been served our drinks, appetizer, and dinner. Evening over. I walked over to the restaurant side and tables were available and atmosphere seemed fun. The section we were seated in was called the Southern Lunch . Generally only open until 3:00pm Mon -Sat in the sign on the side of the building. Should have been charged lunch prices.

I am always quick to provide positive review for organizations that have great service and great product. I very rarely provide negative reviews, but in this instance I am completely aggravated. The hostess came over after dinner and was pretty smug. I shared with her how we didn t not care for the atmosphere, how we observed she moved other people, etc. she indicated I should have said something when we sat down. I did, at least 3 times to the point that my family wanted me to just be quiet! In a town and area that there are 100 s to choose from, the food is good, the service is ok, and the atmosphere depends on the seat your sitting in. So many other places to try, I d skip Grits and Grace and find another local.
