"You don't truly understand something until you can explain it to your grandma" -A. Einstein. In my experience learning new skills takes on the 80/20 rule. 80% frustrating and 20 wanting to give up. Which is probably why many of us pick up new skills and are quick to give up. HackerYou really understands this. The instructors are helpful and super knowledgeable. You can tell this because they are able to explain concepts at great detail made easy to understand for non-tech people. But most importantly the material, class assignments and projects that foster curiosity and provides enough of a challenge that your knowledge base increases significantly in a very short period of time (although it does not feel that way at the time. But as the saying goes. 'the more you know, the more you know you don't know. :)). Finally a really understated part of HackerYou is the community. The community is made of people just like you. People who are curious, creative, helpful and encourage you to learn. Sometimes it does take a whole village to raise a 'developer'. I've loved my time at HackerYou. So much so that I immediately enrolled in the Javascript/Jquery class! As the saying goes 'I am on a curiosity voyage. HackerYou classes are my paddles.
