Truly terrible. I have no problem with the way I was treated but service department is predatory in nature. I own an aviation service company of 50 employees and understand high end service of expensive equipment and owners of said equipment. I brought my car in for overheating and asked for a diagnosis. The charge was $119.95 to tell me I should spend $2633.34 on repairs. I am an FAA licensed aircraft technician and fully understand and am fully capable of working on and fixing my vehicle. I choose to take it to the dealer because I am busy running my business and have no problem supporting maintenance shops that in theory can best and most expeditiously diagnose and fix my issue.

In this case I was told I needed to replace the water pump "$680" because oil had leaked on the connector, the entire valve cover (not just the $40 gasket mind you but the entire metal cover) because it leaked the oil "$1157.81 P&L" and the thermostat because "they go bad when car overheats" $161 but $1368.36 for thermostat, pump and labor"

So the diagnosis for my car overheating that I paid $119.95 for them to tell me is that an oil leak caused it and it will cost $2,633.34 to repair.

SOLUTION:

I bought a valve cover GASKET for $40 it took me an hour and one beer to replace, I cleaned the water pump electrical connection and all is well with the world!

I have over a month and several hundred miles with no issues and none expected.

This is either intentionally predatory or very incompetent and for either I will not be back EVER and would suggest to you that you either get a second opinion or steer clear altogether.
