A reminder that we as a nation are still yet an imperfect Union. Dr King (along with Mahatma Ghandi and Jesus, key influences in his life) showed there was a way for our country to heal the scars of inequality, injustice, and inhumanity left from slavery, the Civil War, and all periods leading to and including today. White nationalism is still really a thing; seriously? A country that can split atoms, walk on the moon, create nanotech on a scale unfathomable only a few years ago and we're still having Klan marches, a president who implicitly supports them, laws to disenfranchise black, latino, and other "minority" voters.... . We should do more to promote his life and philosophy. And peacefully march thru our lives as he did to promote the change in the world we want to see.
