The post has been delivered but they even did not ...

The post has been delivered but they even did not try to knock on the door, just left it at the entrance? After I've got the email that the parcel has been delivered I immediately called to my wife but she said that nothing has come, only after she went outside she found the parcel. Why is that? Was it too hard to knock on the door?
