I'm a little ambivalent about the zoo. On one hand, it rescues animals. On the other hand they are housed in cages that are way too small. They take away the Tigers that are born after 10 days away from the mother so they can get the newborns used to humans.

I took the endangered animals tour at 2:30. It was too hot. The animals naturally were at the back in shade so we didn't get to see too many animals up close. The good bits was petting the wolves and "kissing" the camel. The tour was rushed through. As a hobbyst photographer, I was miffed that they wouldn't let me use my own camera. Just so they can sell me their photos. At the end we held a python and an alligator. Something that I have done plenty of times in Florida. Then we got up close and personal with a 12 week old tiger. That was good.

All, in all, I have been to much better places. It most definitely wasn't worth the 5 hour drive to and fro from Dallas. If you happen to be close enough, it might be worth visiting. Not worth driving any more than 30 minutes.
