I was admitted and treated fairly well and took long but understood due to the pandemic. My stay here was my issue. I am type 1 diabetic and need insulin on the regular but during my stay I was either being forgotten or given too little in which made me get sick and stud longer. I understand nurses were busy and have alot on their hands. But when I would ask my nurse when she had down time that I had to use the restroom she wouldn't let me get up even though the doc ordered more walking for me or she wouldn't give water because there was no ice and forget at times to get my insulin. I got sicker being without insulin. I was told by another nurse that the assumed I was type 2. Last thing I wanted or want is to be a diabetic and in a hospital where they confuse me with a different form of the illness which can cause me my life. I appreciate the great nurses that did help change my medications so I can get better and even they called their own workers lazy. After being released my usual medications are locked and can not order them and didn't receive any release forms needed for work release and was not inputed online. I contacted member services and did not find any documents stating my release and couldn't help with my prescription also. Trying to get assistance from anyone is such a heart attack waiting to happen. When leaving the hospital I was also notified that the patient next to me had covid and I could've caught it since we were next to each other for 5 days. They only advice me to contact infection control.???
