King Saud University is located in the city of Riyadh. It was inaugurated on Rabi` Al-Thani 14, 1377 AH / 6 November 1957, and it is considered the second university in the Kingdom after Umm Al-Qura University, which King Abdulaziz ordered the establishment of the College of Sharia in Mecca in 1369 AH to become the first university educational institutions to be established in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its name was changed to Riyadh University during the reign of King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz. It was re-named at King Saud University a second time during the reign of King Khalid bin Abdul Aziz, who saw during his patronage of one of its closing parties the first name was restored, so King Saud University is the second largest university in the world in terms of area, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has allocated this university the equivalent of 1% From the state budget annually [1].
