Two of my family members have been residents at Me...

Two of my family members have been residents at Mesa Christian. My mom has been there since late 2018 and is now in the long-term care unit. I live a thousand miles away in Texas, so I worry about her a lot. My last visit to her was in March, just before MC closed the doors to visitors. Since then, they have done an exemplary job in keeping the residents, and as much as possible, the staff, safe. They were able to hold off COVID cases in the residents until July, and since then have had very few cases, most of them mild. I know this because the staff has held weekly - at times, daily - Zoom call-in meetings to update family members on what is going on. I feel like their PPE protocols, and more importantly, their caring, has made MC the best place for my mom to be.

The second family member was my sister, who was admitted to MC in early 2019 with Stage IV colon cancer. My mom insisted that she be in the same room with her, and the staff readily made that happen. She had the best care we could hope for, and when she passed away in April, they allowed us to hold the memorial for her there in the facility so that my non-ambulatory mom could attend.

No nursing facility is perfect, but Mesa Christian comes as close as possible.
