So, despite the reviews on here I decided to move in and give it a shot. Signed a one-year lease so, I am in it for the long haul. The office has been professional and responsive during the rental process. absolutely no issue there and very friendly. The only reason for 4-stars at this point is due to the length of my stay. I need more time to really give a full review.
1. Apartment overall a very nice apartment. 2nd floor 2 bedroom. Clean, great appliances, and so forth. quality of apartment is a real good deal for the price.
2. As for sound, the master bedroom is backed up to the stairway, and with it being a wooden stairwell you can hear people going up and down the stairs. I am a pretty sound sleeper, so it really doesn t impact me. (UPDATE- No issues on this)
3. UPDATE- The upstairs apartment, you can clearly hear the walking. But after talking to the tenants they totally understood and were more than accommodating. Hardly hear them now. Good people! Not a bad experience at all. Again, I went and talked to them, they had no idea they were being that loud. Sometimes you just have to talk to your neighbors.
4. Train yes there is a train, there is a complex across from me blocking it. At night it sounds like a loud air conditioner kicking on. Not a big deal to me; however, I wouldn t want to be in the complex right beside it. (UPDATE) Its pretty repetitive.. about 430am, 530am, and on off throughout the day. I get up early so not a big deal but noticeable. Nothing can be done about it, so you have to get use to it.
5. Cable Internet The suite solutions hooked me up yesterday. The speed is great, stream movies in 4k without an issue and for $85 for the first year its not bad.
6. Community it s a mix of college age and business professionals from what I can tell. Lots of pets, but I never hear them. (UPDATE) no issues. Everyone keeps to themselves, no issue with dogs or barking.. seems like a great place for dog owners.
Update- Overall not bad. Depends on many things. Just make it through a year and we will see. I am on week four.
It is apartment living. I have lived in my own home for 23 yrs and this is an adjustment and I have only been here for a few weeks. My hopes are this continues to be a positive situation. The largest negative I have seen so far is the leasing agreement. The documents are set to punish you financially if you break the lease or damage the complex. If I was a property owner, I would probably do the same. But there are no accommodations from what I see for circumstances out of your control that would cause you to break the lease. IE- medical, death in family, job termination ect.
Well, I have moved out. The apartment life was good, and no issues. I left the place in the same or better condition than I found it. Swept the floors, cleaned the bathrooms and touched up the walls. (yes I bought a gallon of paint for $20) and fixed the scuffs and holes) didn't have too but I wanted to leave it nice. Overall, I would highly recommend this place if you cannot afford to buy a home. Its a great place to transition from, just be sure to pay attention to the fees they hit you with. They have the lease tied up really tight to make you pay if you don't hold up your end of the deal. I had to pay for a lost pool band, $10. and would have been hit on stains on the carpet if I hadn't called them out in my pre-move-in inspection. So pay attention to the condition when you move in.
