Not an easy review to write as the experience is so mixed. Starting with the positives: waiting staff is delightful and knowledgeable; their recommendations and service are spot on. The venue is gorgeous, nice airy space and great decorations. But..... the corkage of 50 dollar is outrageous I find, especially when customers also drink other (glasses) of wine and order plenty of food. And the wine list is quite minimal at this restaurant. Oh, and who came up with the idea to offer customers PAPER napkins???
The steak we selected (what a great feature that is by the way) was not cooked medium rare but I dared not send it back as my daughter, whose birthday it was had set eyes on it and would have probably started cutting me up. Even though I had mentioned in the reservation that it was her birthday they did not seem to have any record of it, but er made do by selecting some delightful cakes from the pastry section in the shop.
Last but not least; the toilet was an absolute shambles. For a place where you spend this much money one expects them to be spotless. See my picture for proof that this was not the case, and this was at 20.00! So unfortunately, despite the best efforts from the waiting staff, three stars and I won t be in a hurry to go back, unless it is for some oysters at the bar maybe.
